“Before anything else, it would be important to give a little history of this beautiful place.
Eight siblings who have always shared a love for nature and the environment, exploring forests, rivers, and mountains, and always amazed by the diversity of life around them, committed to conservation and decided to unite their efforts to carry out an ambitious project: to buy a farm where they could live in harmony with nature and develop sustainable activities. This passion for nature intensified, and they began to dream of finding a way to protect and preserve it for future generations.
In 2003, the Tapia siblings finally found the opportunity they had been looking for. They discovered a large property of 300 hectares in the heart of a beautiful forested area. Without hesitation, the siblings decided to buy the property with the aim of developing a nature reserve that could protect the biodiversity of this pleasant area.
From the beginning, the siblings were clear that their approach would be to conserve the environment rather than exploit it. To this day, they have been working very hard to restore local ecosystems, planting native trees, and caring for animal species that are likely endangered. At the same time, they built infrastructure and trails so that visitors could explore the reserve without causing damage to the environment.
The siblings’ efforts over all these years have borne fruit. The reserve has become a magnet for students and scientists who come from different parts of the country and the world to study the species established here. The reserve also became a popular tourist attraction for those seeking a peaceful place to connect with nature and escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
Today, the Tapia siblings’ nature reserve is a model of conservation and sustainability. Their vision and hard work have led to the protection of a unique ecosystem and have inspired many people to follow in their footsteps in protecting the environment. The Tapia family is proud of what they have achieved and continue to work to expand and improve their nature reserve for the benefit of nature and humanity.
The Private Reserve “EL MADRIGAL DEL PODOCARPUS” is located 5 kilometers from the city of Loja, 20 minutes by car from the city center. The property borders the Podocarpus National Park, and this is one of the reasons why the air is clean, the waters are crystal clear and pure, and the flora and fauna are diverse. On the property, there are many springs, lagoons, river, and waterfalls.
Eight of the three hundred hectares were intended for the personal use of the Tapia family, that is, each sibling took one hectare where they can build their house, produce organic crops, and develop personal activities. The other 292 hectares are intended for the conservation and development of the environment. All of this constitutes the Private Reserve “EL MADRIGAL DEL PODOCARPUS.”
The Tapia siblings are a very close family. However, due to personal situations, two of them have decided to sell their rights to the nature reserve. This involves two hectares plus the use of 100% of the area destined for the reserve, that is, of the remaining 292 hectares.
We are looking for buyers for these two rights within the Private Reserve with the same ideals and commitment to respect for the environment so that it remains a refuge for wildlife and an example of respect for the environment.
Come and be part of this great life project!! Book an appointment to visit this magical place!!”
